SUMMARY:STRIDE's Great Race
DESCRIPTION:STRIDE’s Great Race\, a Level I Adaptive Race\, is a competitive event for disabled ski racers from around the Northeast. The race is designed to introduce adaptive skiers to the thrill of racing in a safe and essentially low-competitive format. Each racer is timed in two runs through a giant slalom course set on intermediate to beginner terrain\, and special awards are given to the top three finishers in each category. Divisions are open to Visually Impaired\, Blind\, 2-Track\, 3-Track\, 4-Track\, Bi-ski\, Mono Skiers and Snowboarders with special needs\, and the course is set-up to accommodate different skill levels. In addition to the races\, there will be an outdoor barbecue\, music\, and an awards ceremony. The outdoor BBQ is available for all resort guests with proceeds supporting STRIDE Adaptive Sports. DESCRIPTION:Make plans to join us for one of the best events of the season! Our Spring Fling is a celebration of longer days\, warmer weather\, and fun times. The event features the Cardboard Box Derby\, fun races for the kiddos and adults\, and of course\, the annual Pond Skimming Contest. All events are FREE and registration is in Crane (West) Lodge\, beginning at 8:30 am. Registration closes 20 minutes prior to the start of each event and the schedule is as follows: \n8:30-1:40 Registration; Crane (West) Lodge \n10:00 Cardboard Box Derby; Lower Slingshot (under Giant Swing). Prizes for most creative box\, fastest time and slowest time. Awards & Prizes at the finish line\, immediately following the race!\nRules:\n     -Box must be constructed out of cardboard and tape only. No other materials are allowed.\n     -No metal anywhere in the vehicle.\n     -All team members must ride in the box.\n     -Helmets are required.   \n11:00 Childrens Slalom Race (Ages 4-7. Boys & Girls Divisions) 180 slope. Results & Awards on JJ’s Patio immediately following the race!  \n11:30 Junior Slalom Race (Ages 8-12. Boys and Girls Divisions) 180 slope. Results & Awards on JJ’s Patio immediately following the race! \n12:00 Swimsuit Slalom Race (All ages & genders) 180 slope. Swimsuits must be worn and completely visible during the race. Results posted on JJ’s Patio immediately following the race!  \n2:00 – 4:00 Pond Skimming Contest (All ages); Alex’s Park\nWill you make it across the pond? We certainly hope so\, but that’s only part of it! The winner will be chosen based on a combination of distance\, style\, costume\, and crowd reaction!
